Since its adaptation by Matthew Barber in 2003, the play Enchanted April has enjoyed great popularity. The play opened on Broadway under the direction of Michael Wilson in April 2003 and has since been taken up by close to 20 theatre companies in Great Britain, Australia and the U.S.A.
