You are warmly invited to a Q&A with Joyce Morgan, author of The Countess of Kirribilli. The free-spirited literary sensation who beguiled the world (Allen & Unwin 2020).
Morgan’s new biography of Elizabeth von Arnim has been widely praised for offering a fresh look on a much-loved writer: “The joy of this biography is that the subject comes to vivid life before the reader’s eyes” (Carmel Bird, The Australian); “as absorbing and entertaining as any of the subject’s novels” (Anne Henderson, The Sydney Institute).
As the former arts editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, Joyce Morgan has written on arts and culture for more than three decades. She has worked in London, Hong Kong and Sydney and is the author of several books, including a biography of the Australian artist Martin Sharp: His life and times, which was long-listed for the Stella Prize.
Joyce Morgan will read from The Countess from Kirribilli, talk to Juliane Römhild (La Trobe University) about her work on von Arnim and take questions from the audience.
The event will take place on Zoom, and the meeting will be recorded to give those living in uncongenial time zones a chance to watch later on.
